Qatar’s ongoing communications improvement process received another upgrade today, with the news that Qtel will offer a free ADSL WiFi Router and free connection for every new customer to its barQ ADSL service.
Qtel’s barQ ADSL service has proven to be highly popular with residents in Qatar, offering high-speed, reliable Internet access with unlimited usage for browsing, chatting, downloading and streaming.
With the new offer unveiled today, new customers will get a WiFi router - worth QR210 - for free, to enable them to surf the internet from anywhere in their home. In addition, Qtel is also offering free installation, creating an overall saving of QR409.
Adel Al Mutawa, Executive Director, Group Communications said: “Qtel is committed to providing the widest range of Internet technology to the whole community, and our research has demonstrated that wireless access is becoming increasingly important
for home users. Having a wireless router enables kids to do their homework, parents to check their accounts and family members to send email, all from different rooms in the house.”“For this reason, has decided to make it more affordable and easier for our customers to get ADSL installed with a free Wi-Fi router,” he concluded.
Qtel has chosen the most advanced device for the ADSL WiFi - Home Broadband campaign. The router was tested, selected and certified by the Qtel Network department for its speed, compatibility and ease-of-use, to ensure the best quality experience for the customer. The router also supports and enables proliferation of Qtel Triple Play Service - Mozaic TV.
A number of packages are available with barADSL, offering connection speeds ranging from 512 kbps up to 2 Mbps. Monthly fees start from as little as QR200.
