ABI Research has released a report predicting a doubling of dual-mode phones supporting both WiFi and cellular networks every two years. The research firm predicts that 144 million dual-mode handsets will ship that year, rising to more than 300 million in 2011.

Computer scientists in Japan say they’ve developed a way to break the WPA encryption system used in wireless routers in about one minute. The attack gives hackers a way to read encrypted traffic sent amoung computers and convinced types of routers that use the WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) encryption system.
